What does a volunteer do?

As a volunteer at Kattelatte Kafe, you help with the daily running of the cafe. Duties vary by shift but can include:

  • Setting up and cleaning cat rooms and the cafe
  • Welcoming and escorting guests
  • Monitoring cat welfare and safety
  • Helping with food and drinks
  • Helping in the second-hand store when there are no guests
  • General maintenance and restocking

Full training provided. There's always plenty to do — this is a working shift, not a social visit.

Who are we looking for?

  • You are reliable and show up for your shifts
  • You enjoy working with people and animals
  • You are comfortable with cleaning and hands-on work
  • You are 16 or older
  • You can communicate in Norwegian and/or English
  • You can provide a politiattest (Norwegian police certificate) — we'll guide you

Experience with cats is a plus, but not required!

Fill in the form below and we'll be in touch as soon as we can — usually within 3-5 days. We read every application carefully.

You must be 16 or older.

Tell us a little about yourself and what draws you to the café and the cats.

Politiattest requirement

Because we work with animals and sometimes with children (e.g. our Paws & Pages programme), all volunteers must provide a valid Norwegian politiattest (certificate of good conduct) before starting. We'll guide you through the process when we get to that stage.
